A bed and breakfast is generally known as a private home where a guest is provided a place to stay for the night. Breakfast is usually included with the price of the room. A fine example of a great bed and breakfast is Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast that’s just a few blocks from Fredericksburg’s historic Main Street.

A guesthouse is very similar to a bed and breakfast with the difference being the quarters are a separate building and the innkeeper is usually not present. Breakfast is either delivered to the guesthouse or a breakfast certificate is provided for breakfast at one of the local restaurants. A good example of a guesthouse is Der Stall Bed and Breakfast Barn.

Of course, these two terms are very fluid in that many visitors to Fredericksburg say they want to stay in a bed and breakfast but may really mean guesthouse.

Fredericksburg, Texas has many excellent dining choices for you to enjoy while visiting the Texas Hill Country, no matter your taste. Of course, Fredericksburg is known for its authentic German restaurants such as Friedhelm’s Bavarian Restaurant on the far west end of Main Street.
